We use the information to handle orders; deliver products and services; process payments, communicate with you about orders, products, services and promotional offers; as well as update our records and generally maintain your account with us. We also use this information to improve our website, prevent or detect fraud or abuses of our website and enable third parties to carry out technical, logistical or other functions on our behalf.

Automatic Information: We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us. For example, like many websites, we use “cookies”, and we obtain certain types of information when your web browser accesses MIAMIA. Note: Your browsing and purchasing patterns may be commercially sensitive. We recognise this. A number of companies offer utilities designed to help you visit websites anonymously. Although we will not be able to provide you with a personalised experience at MIAMIA if we cannot recognise you, we want you to be aware that these tools exist.

E-mail Communications: To help us make e-mails more useful and interesting, we may receive a confirmation when you open e-mail from MIAMIA if your computer supports such capabilities.

We combine such third party sourced information with information we have obtained about you from our site, we will treat the combined information in accordance with the practices described under this Privacy Policy, plus any additional restrictions imposed by the source of the data.

Do we share the information we collect about you?

Information about our customers is an important part of our business and we do not share or sell it to third parties. MIAMIA shares customer information only as described below.

Third Party Service Providers: We employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. Those can include providing customer service, fulfilling orders, processing credit payments and analysing data. They have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, and may not use it for other purposes. Further, they must process the personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and as permitted by applicable data protection laws.

Business Transfers: As we continue to develop our business, we might buy or sell subsidiaries or business units. In such transactions, customer information generally is one of the transferred business assets but remains subject to the promises made in any pre-existing Privacy Policy unless the customer consents otherwise.

How long we retain your data

Different types of personal data are retained for different periods of time. Personal data is retained for only as long as MIAMIA has a legitimate basis to retain the data.

  • Personal data provided as part of a contract between us is retained for a period of 7 years after the contract has ended.
  • We retain comments and their metadata indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username when provided). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
